About Peter Verstraeten

Peter Verstraeten has spent thirty years making consequential decisions in conditions that did not reward confidence, and studying what separates the ones that held from the ones that didn’t.

He co-founded S&V Management Consultants and grew it into an international strategy and supply chain firm operating across Europe and beyond, before its sale to Mahindra Satyam and later PwC. He founded Augnition and built Proceedix, a SaaS platform for digital work execution, before its acquisition by a Californian technology fund. He co-founded Iristick, one of a handful of global suppliers of industrial smart glasses, and won EU Horizon 2020 funding for the venture. Across six businesses founded and three sold to global players, he has carried the kind of personal and professional risk that makes strategic judgment feel less like a discipline and more like a survival skill.

He is not a theorist who advises practitioners. He is a practitioner who has spent fifteen years thinking carefully about what he has lived.

Today he advises entrepreneurs and boards through WideLens, focusing on the decisions that cannot be deferred, delegated, or reversed. He holds degrees in engineering physics and business administration from Ghent University and Vlerick Business School, a master’s in corporate finance, and a Six Sigma Black Belt. He spent several years as a researcher and lecturer at Vlerick, where he developed a structural way of reading organisations that has stayed with him ever since.

This site is where that thinking takes shape. It is a place to reflect on what happens when certainty disappears but decisions cannot wait, written for those who lead, advise, and think in a world where the view no longer clears.

He writes here weekly.
